This is a really exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the work of a fantastic small international development charity.

Action Through Enterprise (ATE) is a looking for an outstanding candidate to direct and manage our vibrant programmes and brilliant staff in Lawra. Based in rural Upper West Ghana, this position is suitable for an experienced and competent manager within the development sector. We are looking for an outstanding person with a passion for participatory and collaborative development, and a genuine commitment to in-country empowerment.

The ideal candidate will have excellent relationship building skills, be an experienced project manager, a capable line manager, have significant experience of successful capacity building, and be an outstanding cross cultural worker. Experience of working in rural northern Ghana would be advantageous but is not essential, but experience of successfully creating sustainable change in a remote location in a developing country is a must.

This is a temporary position for 12 months, with the expectation that the Interim Director of Operations will continue to build on the professional development of our excellent team, continue to improve processes and systems, and enhance the positive impact of our work.

We recognise that those in positions of leadership in small international development charities are often less diverse than other sectors in terms of women and people of colour, and that they often do not reflect the profile of the communities they serve, so, we particularly encourage applications and expressions of interest from people of colour, particularly women.

Ideally, the candidate will be in post in Lawra by the 1st January 2021, but, to attract the right person to this post, there is room for negotiation.
