St Mary’s Infant School in MarlboroughSt Marys2 raised a fantastic £217 for ATE at their Harvest Festival. In the spirit of this ancient festival, the children gave thanks for a successful harvest, sang and danced, and shared with others by donating money to feed school children in one of the poorest parts of Ghana.

Well done to the winners of the Harvest Festival competition, including Will Palmer the Year 2 winner, who painted a pumpkin to look like a globe with flags of the UK and Ghana pinned on with a string joining them.

St Mary’s have been great supporters of ATE, especially of the children at their partner school, Karbo Primary School in the Upper West Region of Ghana. On a recent visit to St Mary’s Infant School, Sarah saw the children practicing a Ghanaian song for their Harvest Festival which invites others to come and play and she shared news of Monkey’s latest travels from their classrooms in Marlborough, Wiltshire to Karbo Primary in Lawra, Upper West, Ghana.

In a wonderful ongoing exchange, the children at St Marys Infants and Karbo Primary have been writing letters to each other about their schools and are going to be making friendship bracelets for each other in the colours of their national flags. We look forward to seeing those and say a big thank you from ATE to all the children, their families and teachers at St Mary’s Infant School for their continued support.
