Action Through Enterprise (ATE) was established in 2012 and is now a well-respected, fast-growing charity, aiming to transform communities and create opportunities in Upper West Ghana through key initiatives in education, enterprise and inclusion. 

We are excited to be recruiting for four important positions – two based at our Inclusion Centre in Lawra, and two in our Nandom Centre – which will be focused on improving access to technology and books in the Upper West. Technology and Learning Coordinators

Action Through Enterprise is seeking two Technology and Learning Coordinators, one based at each of the ATE Inclusion Centres in Lawra and in Nandom.These exciting new roles are ideal for a person with excellent technology skills who loves teaching others to use computers. The two successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintaining a high-standard computer suite, connected to Starlink internet, at the ATE Inclusion Centre in either Lawra or Nandom
  • Ensuring access to computers and wifi internet for community members including managing access policies for various user communities
  • Support municipality schools to access the computer suite for curriculum IT technical and coursework for students for basic level students level as per national Ghana curriculum
  • Outreach to rural communities to enable all children across the municipality to access computers and develop IT skills
  • Delivering computer learning sessions to school children after school 4 days per week and on Saturday mornings during term time, and Tuesday to Saturday mornings during school holidays
  • Provide basic support for social media and webpage setup for local businesses
  • Supporting local businesses to improve their web presence including Webpage Optimisation for search

Working as part of a dynamic team, this role is full time with working hours from 10am to 5pm Tuesday through to Friday, and 10-1pm on a Saturday.

Recruitment for two Library Assistants

Action Through Enterprise is seeking two Library Assistants, one based at each of the ATE Inclusion Centres in Lawra and in Nandom. These exciting new roles are ideal for two people who enjoy working with children, sharing books with others and providing a safe space for young people to read and do homework.

The two successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Managing and maintaining a well-organised small library at the ATE Inclusion Centre in Lawra or Nandom
  • Running drop-in sessions from 3pm to 5pm every Tuesday to Friday, and on Saturday mornings (10am to 1pm) each week during term time for primary and junior high school children to come to read a book, draw a picture, or for a safe, quiet place to do their homework
  • Working with children in a calm and kind manner to help them enjoy a story, learn to read, and to complete their homework successfully
  • Managing the rotation of ATE Book Boxes between partner schools
  • Supporting the Technology and Learning Coordinator with computer lessons where needed

Working as part of a dynamic team, this role is part-time with a total of 15 hours per week. Working hours are from 2pm to 5pm Tuesday through to Friday, and 10am to 1pm on Saturday.
