We’ve just connected Lawra and Nandom with the whole world – by switching on the wifi at our two Technology and Learning Zones and giving people free access to the internet for the first time.
19th May 2025 will go down in history in Lawra and Nandom as the day Action Through Enterprise switched on the internet. Children flocked to our Inclusion Centres to take part in D Day – Digital Day – in which they joined a mass zoom call between the two centres.
Full connectivity is a game-changer. Getting Lawra and Nandom linked up to world will close the digital divide and open the door to endless opportunities. In a region where few people have access to the internet and where children learn IT from a blackboard, this initiative has the power to transform learning, enterprise and everyday life.
Michael Frimpong Gyimah, Lawra Technology and Learning Zone Coordinator, said: “The ATE Tech Project is not just about computers. It is about creating opportunity, building dreams, and equipping young people for the future. We are proud of what has been achieved so far, and we look forward to working together as a team to grow it further.”
