Post office prize

There were many fundraising events for ATE taking place this weekend and each event proved to be a great success raising vital funds for our work in Upper West Ghana. Fundraising events took place locally in Ramsbury and London, and as far around the world as Sydney Australia! Details of these fundraising success stories can be found below!

Ramsbury Primary School May Fair

ATE’s strong links with Ramsbury Primary School continued to thrive this weekend as Sarah and Phil were present at the May Fair, sharing stories of our projects in Lawra with the hundreds of school pupils and parents that attended. There was also a competition to win a whole jar of sweets, kindly donated by the Ramsbury Post Office. Here is Grace Lillywhite collecting her prize which she won by guessing that there were 48 sweets in the Jar! Well Done Grace! A fantastic £45 was raised!

Ramsbury Football Club Reunion Match

Our fundraising events in Ramsbury continued on Saturday afternoon at the Ramsbury Recreation centre, with a football match played between the current Ramsbury first team, and the Ramsbury veterans! It turned out to be a highly entertaining and competitive, but slightly one-sided match and the current first team won by an incredible score of 14-3 (we think)!

At the event, ATE provided refreshments throughout the game with a BBQ and bar, and after the game many of the players stayed around to enjoy a well deserved burger and beer, while catching up with teammates of old. The total amount raised from the football fundraiser was £121.60.

YouGov Football Tournament

Another football themed fundraiser took place over the weekend as YouGov hosted a football tournament to help raise money in sponsorship for their Three Peaks Challenge starting on the 29th May. More details to follow below.

Katie Harland

Last but not least, Katie Harland took part in the Sydney Half Marathon early on Sunday morning! She finished the course in a great time, so far raising £178.75 for ATE in the process.

Thanks to everyone who helped or took part in a very successful weekend for ATE!
